started out as a small meat market in the back of a building in downtown Hartford in 1983. We have grown from 0
employees in 1983 to over 20 employees today. Our first expansion was in 1989, when we built a new building at
140 N. Main Street, which is our present location. In our new location we introduced Ma Komp's Super Deli which
features over 25 fresh home-made salads, home-made soups and entrées. Although Ma & Pa Komp are no longer with us,
every item in our deli is still made with their recipes! Our second expansion occurred in 1994. This expansion
enabled us to start our own bakery, and enabled us to start Komp's
Custom Catering.
We cordially invite you to stop in and visit us in beautiful downtown Hartford. We are
know as Hartford's "Meatin' Place", with good reason. Our customers soon become our friends. You'll always find the
finest, freshest foods and meats, reasonable prices, and service with a smile at "The Meatin' Place"!
